What To Know
Your stats are as follows:
HP: 30 (If you take damage, this number goes down. If this number is lower than 1, you can only use one action per turn (unless you're not a player, then you can't take actions at all if this number is lower than 1). If this number is lower than -15, you die.
Defense: 6 (The higher this number is, the harder you are to hit)
On your turn you can do any of the following once each (these are called Actions):

On your turn you can do any of the following once each (these are called Actions):
Action | Effect |
---|---|
Attack | Choose someone to attack, and roll 1d20. If the result is higher than the target's Defense, they take 1d6+5 damage. You can instead use this action to manipulate the environment in some way (this requires no roll). Picking something up to use as a weapon doesn't count but, like, flipping a table for cover, or shoving a couch to block a doorway does. |
Move | Choose a target to move towards in order to presumably then attack them and probably be attacked by them or to, say, leave a burning building, climb a tree, or row a boat. |
When its not your turn you can do one of the following (these are called Reactions):
Reaction | Effect |
---|---|
Block | Gain +10 HP. You can share this HP with anybody next to you. Any of this HP which didn't go away from damage goes away at the start of your turn. |
Dodge | Gain +6 Defence. |
Parry | When you or somebody else is attacked, roll 1d20. If your roll is higher than their roll, their attack misses, and you can attack the attacker. |
At any time you can do the following:
Action | Effect |
---|---|
Exert Effort | Roll 1d6. Increase any d20 roll you make by the amount rolled on the d6. Each character can only do this once per game. If you're not a player, you can't do this. |
What To Do
Whatever you want whenever its your turn, or whenever turns aren't happening (when no one is fighting). If you can't do something you want to, the Host will tell you that you can't.
If you're supposed to be taking things seriously, pretend that you're the person in the situation your Host describes instead of thinking of yourself as playing a game. This is called role-playing and can be aided by thinking about the type of person your character is, or by deciding your character's motivation. If this makes you uncomfortable that's okay and very common your character can be (and some say should be) an extension of yourself. Just play yourself if you want.
